Summer Camp Guide
United Way 2-1-1 has partnered with The Family Conservancy to provide information on summer camps and activities still available this year across the metro. You can find that information here on our website or by calling 2-1-1 and speaking to a Call Specialist.

Summer Food Service Programs
Programs like Harvesters Kids Cafe, Dotte Meals and Lunch Bunch bring meals to kids in the summer through programs at schools, libraries, community centers and more. You can find out more about these programs by clicking on this link and using the Refine Your Results section on the right side of the screen to find your closest location or by calling us at 2-1-1 or 816-474-5112 and talking to a Call Specialist any time.

Free Volunteer Income Tax Assistance
A few Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Sites continue to be open through the fall. Those with income in 2017 below $60,000 may qualify for free preparation assistance. Click the link below for a list of the site assisting, the eligibility criteria, documentation needed and information on how to get help.

People making under $66,000 in 2017 can also file their own taxes for free online throughout the year at myfreetaxes.com, which is sponsored by United Way and H&R Bloch. It is quick, easy, and walks you through the process step by step online with guided questions. Only 2017 taxes may be filed at myfreetaxes.com.

United Way 2-1-1 Partners with Crisis Text Line

Crisis Text Line is a national text hotline that serves anyone, in any type of crisis, providing access to free, confidential 24/7 support and information via the medium people already use and trust: text. Now you can text “UNITE” to 741741 from anywhere in the United States, anytime, and text with a Crisis Counselor that will listen, respond, problem solve, and help you work through that crisis moment. If you need resources, the Crisis Counselor may refer you back to 2-1-1 for local resources.
