Receives funding from the federal Office of Housing and Urban Development to provide pre-purchase and mortgage default counseling, home equity conversion (reverse mortgage) counseling and information about the HUD rent assistance program for current and prospective purchasers and tenants.
Assists families in gaining knowledge that will prepare them to handle the everyday problems associated with maintaining a home, a family, an education and a job.
Provides one-on-one assistance in helping Medicaid recipients to understand the services provided by these programs, participants meet with trained CLAIM counselors for assistance with health care issues.
Home weatherization service for income-eligible homeowners and renters. Weatherization crews insulate attics, walls, and floors and perform infiltration measures to homes to make them more energy-efficient and to lower utility bills for the client. Gas and water heating systems are tested for health and safety problems and are repaired or replaced if a problem is detected.
