ABOUT 2-1-1

Dedicated staff at United Way of Greater Kansas City (UWGKC) 2-1-1 maintain a comprehensive database of thousands of local and national community resources. This database contains organizations from 7 counties in Kansas, all of Missouri, and 11 counties in Illinois. You can find information on services for food, clothing, and shelter, as well as for more complex needs like health care, mental health, education, and employment. Our team completes an annual (and often more frequent) update with each organization to ensure we have the most up-to-date information available. Contacting 2-1-1 is free and confidential. Language interpretation is available.

Organizations have to meet UWGKC 2-1-1's Inclusion/ Exclusion Criteria in order to be listed in our resource database. This criteria is required, as we are accredited by the Alliance of Information and Referral Systems Accredited (since 2011). Another requirement is that we capture and report on information on community needs. You can find examples of reports that 2-1-1 produces on our Reports page. UWGKC 2-1-1 also collaborates with 2-1-1 Missouri out of United Way of Greater St. Louis to produce a 2-1-1 reporting dashboard at http://211mo.211counts.org.
